To quote Pink Floyd, “Far away, across the fields/The tolling of the Iron Bells/Brings the faithful to their knees….” This sunset over paddy fields reminds me of just those words.

This image was made on a sunny day at Lepakshi. It is interesting to note how nature and ancient structures look interesting even when the shadows are harsh. Certainly, a different level of aesthetics.
Bee Eater
I don’t shoot a lot of birds. But on a trip to my native, I found a lot of birds in scenic locations. I was carrying the necessary equipment (a tele lens) and I managed to shoot this bee eater with a pleasant green background.
Lepakshi
Considering how hot it was at Lepkashi the day we went there, I am really pleased with the way this image has turned out. I not only bracketed 7 images using my 1D Mark III, I also used a grad-ND filter. This image was shot with a Samyang/Rokinon 14 f/2.8 lens.
The road ahead
The NICE road is not too far away from where I live in J.P Nagar. This stretch offers some nice landscape opportunities. This is a black and white version of a beautiful sunset. The colors are great in the original version. But I preferred to highlight the tones and shapes in the sky in this is conversion to monochrome.
I shot this with a Samyang/Rokinon 14mm f2.8 lens mounted on a Canon full frame body. This is an excellent ultra wide angle lens which offers a huge field of view. Must have for landscape photographers!

Lunar Eclipse
I was lucky to be away in the mountains during the Lunar eclipse. I shot this image with a 100-400L lens, mounted on a tripod. Used a 1.4x TC as well.

A visit to any National Park in the US generally helps us Indians get a perspective of how nature can be protected. It is very hard to find places in India that is so pristine, and beautiful. Can you imagine deer flocking around near tourist population?
Surfing the green
I shot this image in Ranganthittu Bird Sanctuary. A feathered creature of a different kind 🙂
